Inspect the Best is owned and operated by Malcolm Ford.  Malcolm has a Masters Degree in Environmental Science and brings to the profession over 20 years of environmental expertise, hands on experience with home owners and healthy homes, and an in-depth knowledge of radon and water related issues. 

A former Assistant Professor at the University of Alaska Fairbanks Institute Of Northern Engineering,  Malcolm designed and developed the Alaska Home Stewardship Program for Alaskan homeowners.  He was the recipient of the Alaska Environmental Leadership Award in 2006 for his research and outreach work with Alaska Native Tribes in the field of pathogen transfer and safe drinking water.

Moving back to the east coast, Malcolm Ford trained as a home inspector with the Kaplan Inspection Training Association (ITA) in 2006.  ITA was founded in 1987 as North America's first licensed home inspection school.  

Malcolm is licensed (CT License HOI #594), and insured and has completed over 350 inspections.  The profession is moving rapidly as our understanding of homes and operating systems increases. It is critical that you hire someone who keeps abreast of available information and new research!
